Souffle is a Boston Terrier. He was born on May 3, 2000. He's my "heart dog". Souffle came to be with our family because I was looking to add a smaller dog to the family. After doing lots of research, I decided on a Boston Terrier. Souffle is a great dog. He's smart and he's very loveable.
Boston Terriers make great pets. They range in size from 10 to 25lbs, they're easy to groom and they're smart dogs. The bad things about Boston Terriers is that because they are a brachycephalic breed, they can't tolerate hot or cold and they can snort and wheeze. They're also prone to very bad gas. I have found that it doesn't matter what you feed them, and I'm one to suggest a high quality food, because their gas is so bad that even they have to leave the room.
With that said, if you are interested in a Boston Terrier, I highly suggest doing some research. The best place to start is the Boston Terrier Club of America. They have a lot of information regarding the breeds history, health issues, rescue and breeder referrals. If you choose to go the breeder route, I highly suggest a responsible breeder. Boston Terriers are prone to a few health issues. The most popular being Juvenile Cateracts, Luxating Patellae and deafness. The good thing is there are tests out there that can help rule these things out in breeding dogs so it's important to find a breeder who utilizes such testing. If you decide to go the rescue route, there are a lot of Boston Terriers in shelters and rescues who await a loving home. For more information, check out the links below....
